About us

JoinBike was born inside the Federal Institute of Paraná (Campus Colombo) to connect, strengthen, and expand the cycling community through technology.

Our purpose is to make cycling more accessible, safer, and more enjoyable while building an intuitive platform that helps riders discover and organize group rides.

In over four years we have promoted 100+ events, impacted more than 4,000 cyclists, and were featured by institutions such as Harvard, MIT, and international media.

Our Journey

The Beginning

After being hit by a car while riding, Gustavo Kopp chose to turn a personal setback into a movement for safer cycling. He invited classmates, professors, and mentors at IFPR to imagine a platform that would connect riders, make group rides easier to organize, and keep everyone safer. With that collaborative spirit, JoinBike was born.

Recognition

As early pilots gained traction, international institutions took notice. JoinBike was selected to be presented at Harvard and MIT, where we shared how technology and community can reshape mobility. Back home, Brazilian media such as RPC/Globo highlighted our work, validating the project’s potential to transform everyday cycling.

Going global

With support from VZAN, Brazil’s largest rim manufacturer, we traveled to Boston to showcase JoinBike more broadly. There we caught the attention of Harvard professor Scott Edwards, an international cycling reference. That milestone opened doors for global partnerships and reinforced our vision to impact riders across Brazil and beyond.
